Open Question: Moving to Queensland Australia.....Brisbane or Gold Coast?

Hey, i currently stay in Scotland and im in my final year of Adult Nursing at University. My plan when i finish is to get 1 years experience and then move to australia where there are more opportunities and a better lifestyle, career prospects, weather etc. But have no clue where to move to, I was thinking Queensland? Due to the reviews ive read. I will be around 24 when moving, career focused but would also like the relaxed lifestyle and beaches and wouldnt want to be right in the centre of the buzz and busy city life but a short distance if wanting to visit. Can anyone recommend some suburb areas around brisbane and the gold coast which you feel would be ideal for what im looking for? And how much savings would you say I needed?
